Since opening in April 2023 as Melbourne’s first Skill Samurai franchise, more than 1,000 students have come through our doors across weekly classes, holiday programs and local school partnerships.
What started as a coding centre has grown into a learning community built around confidence, creativity, problem solving and meaningful relationships between students and coaches.
More Than Coding Lessons
Our caring environment and dedicated, passionate coaches help students build skills that simply were not on most parents’ radar 5 or 10 years ago.
We guide students to become stronger problem solvers, build confidence and think creatively, developing the skills of tomorrow, today.
But it is not just about the technology. Our coaches get to know every student. Through real rapport and a wide range of hands-on learning experiences, we aim to make every session something students genuinely look forward to.

In 2026, we went independent, giving us the freedom to introduce new platforms, new approaches to learning and more flexible systems shaped around what our families and local community actually need.
Expanding Curriculum
We can now evaluate and introduce new platforms, technologies and learning experiences more quickly, allowing our curriculum to keep pace with the way technology and education continue to change.
Better Booking Systems
We are rapidly improving the way families discover, book and manage programs, with a focus on making the experience simpler and more flexible from the first enquiry onward.
Built Around Community Needs
Independence gives us more freedom to shape classes, holiday programs and learning pathways around the families we actually serve in Elsternwick and across Melbourne’s south-east.
Growing Across Our Local Community
Our reach now extends well beyond our Elsternwick centre.
We run programs in schools across the area and continue to build partnerships that make coding, STEM and technology learning more accessible to local students.
And we have big plans to keep expanding our reach even further.
Education Is at the Heart of Everything We Do
With almost 20 years teaching in primary schools, moving into Skill Samurai Elsternwick was a natural next step for Jacob.
As a passionate educator, Jacob still loves seeing the lightbulb moments that come when a child has a breakthrough.
He particularly enjoys STEM challenges that test a child’s resilience, teamwork, communication and listening skills, confidence under pressure and, of course, their problem-solving ability.
When he is not in the centre, Jacob can usually be found spending time with his family, watching his beloved Tigers or playing soccer.
But he is just as likely to be running trial classes, lending a hand at a school program, back in his element running an incursion or presenting at a school fete.
